of Physics and Astronomy. Prior to 1998, all students referred to herein were
admitted
to the Department of Earth and Space Sciences. Beginning with the fall of 1998,
admissions are integrated with the Physics admissions, and pre-qualifier
students are not required to state a preference for either astronomy or physics.
