HON 114: The Science in Science Fiction

HON 114 is a 1 credit Honors College Seminar. We will focus on "hard" science fiction as a venue with which to explore our universe.

Prerequisites: None.

Expectations: Students are expected to have done the assigned readings prior to the class meeting.

Course Description : This is a 1 credit seminar. We will meet for two hours once a week for seven weeks, September 11 through November 13. We will not meet on October 16 or November 6. I'd like to reserve November 6 and 20 available in case I need to postpone classes.

Attendance Policy : Students are expected to attend all seven class meetings. One absence will be permitted with a valid excuse.

The required texts should be available in the University bookstore, or can be ordered on-line.

Short stories will all be available on-line through blackboard.
