Mt. Stony Brook Observatory

As part of the roof renovation in summer 2013, we got a new Ash dome for our telescope. Mt. Stony Brook Observatory is used for class demonstrations, the undergrad/grad astronomy lab course, and for outreach.

We have the following equipment:

• Meade 14" (0.4 m) LX-200 telescope
• SBIG STL1001-E CCD camera (+ a smaller CCD for spectra and planetary observations)
• 2 Baader Planetarium DADOS spectrographs (designed at MPE)
