Setting up Remote Access to BNL via SSH-Tunneling

  1. First, set up an ssh tunnel:
  2. Second, create ssh-keys if you have not already done so. You will need the private key on your local computer.
  3. (Optional) A great program to avoid the hassle of managing ssh keys is keychain. I will provide brief instructions for a linux install. For other OS, you will have to read the user manual.
  4. Now's a good time to test that everything is working. Open a new terminal if you used keychain and try to login to either computer. You will not be able to login until Stratos has deployed your public key on the remote computer.
